This Sesshin is a two daylong retreat devoted to samadhi practice, offered both in-person at ZCLA and via Zoom. With Great Silence observed throughout, it is an opportunity to intensify and deepen your practice through the experience of periods of uninterrupted meditation (zazen), walking meditation (kinhin), dharma talks, service, face-to-face meetings with Roshi Ryodo, as well as time for mindful work practice (samu) and meals.

Roshi Kipp Ryodo Hawley

Roshi Ryodo entered formal studies at the Zen Center of Los Angeles in 1980, working directly with Charlotte Joko Beck and Genpo Merzel Roshi as well as Taizan Maezumi Roshi, the founding Abbot of ZCLA. He received Dharma Transmission from Roshi Egyoku Nakao, in 2007, empowerment as lay preceptor in 2015, and inka shomei in 2019. […]
